(Hullo to anyone reading this. I'm new here. First ever topic with long posts. I'm going to suck. Yeah... Bai.)
*Late one night, Carmen pulled up to the apartments, just coming home from work at the bar. She parked the car and turned it off, turning everything dark as her headlights went out. She sat in the darkness and silence for a moment, thinking. How many more years was she going to keep working at the bar? 10 years from now, would she still be driving this dingy car home from there? She felt discouraged and frustrated. 25 years old and she still hadn't actually done something with her life. Her life was passing her by and she hadn't even finished college yet. Carmen wanted to do something with her life, but she knew she was held back by not having any money to continue college with. Her lack of money was not due to how much she was paid, however, because her income was fine, but instead due to her foolish spending on alcohol and cigarettes. She wanted to stop drinking and smoking so there would be more money to save, but she just couldn't, and this made her hate herself. As she sat there in the car and thought about these things she became even more frustrated and discouraged. Not wanting to be left alone with her own thoughts anymore, she got out of the car and angrily slammed the car door shut. Carmen took a couple steps towards the apartment door, her ankles bending and twisting as her high heels carried her dangerously over the uneven pavement. Not wanting to risk anymore dangerous steps, she stopped and leaned against her car to pull off her shoes and rub her sore feet with a sigh. After she stood there for a moment, easing the pain in her feet, she resumed walking to the apartment door, heels in her hand and her feet getting blackened from the dust and dirt on the pavement*
